For over 30 years, Dr. Eugene D’Amico III has been providing trusted oral surgery care to patients across Delaware. As a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, he’s known for his steady hands, kind demeanor, and commitment to helping people feel more confident in their care.

Dr. D’Amico’s journey into oral surgery was inspired by his early volunteer work at the Christiana Care Dental Clinic, where he assisted surgical residents and saw firsthand the transformative impact of their work. This formative experience shaped his career path and sparked a passion for oral and maxillofacial surgery—from anesthesia and facial reconstruction to dental implant placement and beyond.

After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Delaware and earning his dental degree with honors from the University of Maryland Dental School in 1983, Dr. D’Amico pursued advanced hospital-based training. He completed a general dentistry internship at DePaul Hospital in Norfolk, VA, followed by a four-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Long Island Jewish Hospital in New York.

Building a Practice That Puts Patients First

In 1988, Dr. D’Amico returned home to Delaware and opened his private practice, originally located in the Omega Professional Center before expanding into the Medical Arts Pavilion in 1999. That same year, he recognized a need for increased access to surgical care in southern New Castle County and established a second office in Middletown.

Under his leadership, The Christiana Center for Oral Surgery & Dental Implants has grown into a multi-location, multi-surgeon practice proudly serving patients across Newark, Middletown, and Wilmington. In 2017, his son, Dr. Michael D’Amico, joined the practice—cementing a shared legacy of surgical excellence and community care.

Dr. D’Amico is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and, in 2016, was appointed as an Examiner for the Board—an honor that reflects his commitment to clinical excellence and advancing the standards of care in the field.

He has been consistently recognized by his peers and the community, including multiple selections as a Top Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon by Delaware Today magazine.

Dr. D’Amico’s clinical expertise spans the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including:

His decision to open a practice in Middletown in the late 1990s was driven by a desire to serve growing communities who previously had to travel long distances for specialty care. His warm, down-to-earth approach has earned him generations of loyal patients and a deep sense of connection to the region he calls home. His greatest professional joy comes from seeing patients walk in with pain or uncertainty—and leave with comfort and confidence.

In his free time Dr. D’Amico enjoys spending time with his grandchildren and relaxing in Rehoboth Beach.
